"Good" is in the eye (or wallet) of the beholder.

But $275/week at JFK including tax and LDW seems pretty good to me.

Part of the reason you might be getting such a high quote is the 20-day duration. I don't know for certain how the Hertz system currently works, but I recall 2-3 years ago when I needed a car for 28 days. The rate when I priced it as two 14-day rentals was much lower than when I priced it as one 28-day rental. (It was something like $140/wk for a full-size for 2 weeks vs. $250+/wk. for 4 weeks.)

Sometimes the popular CDP/PC combos have a max rental on them, and I know in some cases it's two weeks.

If you have no opportunity to return to the airport during the rental, this doesn't help you. But if you do, consider playing around with the rental durations. Maybe a 14 day + a 6 day. Or weekend + 2 weeks + weekend. You might find lower rates that way, and then you can weigh the savings vs. the hassle-factor of swapping cars.

I have been renting from NY area locations once or more every week for the past 3 years and I can honestly say that $276 is the lowest weekly rate I have ever seen. I have received this rate only twice for my weekly rentals, and one time was when I had the car for 3 weeks as well. Hertz usually lowers the weekly rate for additional weeks above the first, so you are likely getting this rate because you are keeping it for so long. So, in my opinion, yes, this is an amazing rate for JFK (especially for the summer when Hertz rates here tend to be a bit higher than normal)!
