Anyone ever had any success in trying to add a 2nd room to a pricline bid at a later date? Probably unlikely but I just thought I would check.

Friends of ours have decided to go with to New Orleans and we got the JW Marriott and I have not had any success even getting close to the rate we got for October a couple of months ago. (of course after I have talked up how great and cheap priceline is!!)

Thanks

Yes, IIRC I added a second room to a successful LAX win a couple months ago, $36 at the Hilton. Worked like a charm.

You can use Priceline's "add a night" feature with an existing reservation. It must be either the day before you are scheduled to check-in, or added the night(s) following your scheduled check-out date. In other words, if you have a one-night reservation for Sept 2 (for example) you can add either Sept 1 or Sept 3 to your reservation.

GLEFF -

Did you just call the hotel directly or pricline?

I don't want to add days, just another room.

Gleff,

Wow, I didn't know you could add another room! I have been able to add nights right on the Priceline site. Can you add a room on the site or do you need to call customer service?

I would also like to put an additional room onto the last night of a 3 night stay, please advise how to do this (its not booked yet) and any luck or prices with 4 star in New York????

That's interesting!
I use Priceline a lot, but was not aware of this feature.
Would I get the same price for the added night .. or starts the bidding process again?

Thanks.

Sorry - I totally spaced! I've added room nights, not extra rooms, where the search was restricted to the same hotel! (Of course I've been pretty successful adding rooms at the same hotel with completely new bids, but that's a function of availability or the specific properties that PL works with)

Bring up your existing confirmation w/Priceline. Click on "Customer Service". There will be an option to click for adding extra nights to your existing booking. Once you put in the date you want to add, Priceline submits your original bid amount to the hotel you were assigned. If the hotel has inventory for your new night at the original price, you're in luck.

You didn't space, Gleff. It was the phrase "at a later date" that caused me to think it was for an added night as well.
