America West FlightFund (Discontinued Program) - Schedule Change - options?

HP has apparently pared back its service on Edmonton (YEG) to LAS from daily to less than daily and thus eliminated the flight I am booked on. It left at 7:50pm and got me to LAX just after midnight. What are my options? The only service is at 7am'ish either non-stop or connecting in PHX. I don't want to take any more time off but also want to leave on the day I am leaving. Would HP put me on a more closely matched AS or NW flight to LAX leaving the same afternoon/evening? The flight is not until November. Any help appreciated. Just want some thoughts from the experts before calling HP.

I would expect them to be willing to re-accommodate you on one of their other flights or routings, but not on another airline. I'm sure they'll also be willing to refund your ticket so that you can purchase one on another airline if you wish, given the magnitude of their schedule change.

If this were a last-minute change, such as day of departure, or a few days before departure, their approach could be different, as they'd really be leaving you in a bad situation with no viable options. But with 3+ months before your flight, I doubt they'll do more than re-route on other HP flights or give you your money back.

All well and good to say cancel the tkt as there are 3 months but that is a long wknd and even HPs flight on the return is now almost sold out (no seats left on seat chart) so other airlines are quite full too. So really its not very fair to the customer. I may just ask them to put me on a flight the next am which won't be too much of a hassle.

Stroke of luck AC decided to match the fares after holding off for weeks and so I cancelled the HP ticket for a full refund. I have also learned a bit of a lesson in that with HP having only 2-3 flights, most leaving 7am these types of issues can be hard to resolve with a rescheduling.
