Hello All,
I am mainly a lurker on here. I certainly value all the useful information that i have found on this board, but I can't take it anymore. I fly American West substainly less than when they had the Columbus Operation. I have reached the breaking point with the Express Carrier "Mesa". Given ever airline has its bad days, but Mesa is ALWAYS that way. On the 10 Flights I have had the displeasure of being on, All ten have been a horrible. From Extremely late, to maintance issues, and the best was the wrong bags loaded on the airplane. I seem to remember another carrier in old Columbus hub that I would take to Boston and DC. Maybe it's relative, but those folks did an amazing job, and even with a smile. America West, Please Change Regional Carriers!!! Bring back the Long Name Folks from Columbus!!! I'm sorry to vent.....Am I the only one, or are other people seeing the same problems!
Thanks!

let's start first with the user, America West, there isn't an "n" on the end of america, don't ever say that other airline name (aa) in our favorite airline's name

Are you thinking of Chatauqua Airlines? They were the last Express carrier America West used in Columbus.

You mean Chautauqua Airlines. They also operate service all over the east coast as UA Express, US Express, and DL Connection. They have a few flights from STL as American Connection, too.

Is this a constructive comment to the discussion? Probably a slip of finger on the keyboard. Big deal.

I remember reading a couple years ago about Doug Parker commenting on some of the service problems they were having with mesa. His response was that they are in a contract and cannot breach it. The mesa issue has always been a sore spot since if they underperform America West gets the blame. My feeling is that HP will have more leverage to for mesa to get its operations in order when mesa will tender a bid for renewal of the contract. America West will have the option to change express carrier. The question is who?

There is a similar discussion on the UA board about Mesa. They fly some UX flights also. General consensus - try to avoid them. On the HP front that means looking for Freedom flights

Freedom is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Mesa. The two are basically one in the same.

Guess we are both in that same boat, Jan. Ever since they have been holding back elite upgrades for day of purchase by anyone, I'm done with HP. They don't follow their own rules. Integrity? They have none, with me..
And they continue to get the best elite program? Not from the votes of the people on here, that's for sure.. :td:

i disagree, i think hp has the best f.f. program, and have been with them since 1986. i am only silver elite, and so far this year, i am batting a 27/28 for segments that were upgraded. the hardest seem to be the las-phx runs, and ewr always seems to be full. i was most disappointed when years ago hp reduced the minimum miles per flight from 750 to 500 miles.
