In NY. anyone over 18 can rent because of the removal of age restirctions in the state. You should have no problems just calling and booking it directly.

CDP 13000 - belongs to the ABA - American Bar Association.

21-24 no charge extra.

Be prepared, they might ask you to show a membership card. In that case, all you have to do is got ABA.org and sign up for an associate membership for $140, and they'll send you one.

You don't even have to be a lawyer. :) ^

I have another question for you, i have never rented a car before from hertz, and i don't know how to use the CDP number, on the internet reservation there is no space where to put the CDP.
Also how can i get a memebership in HERTZ?

On the hertz.com site, scroll down some, and it says "Discount Plan (CDP) Number" and a box next to it.

Enter 13000 into the box. Make sure you fill out all of the other information about your rental, then press continue.

When you finally select what type of car you want, and get your total, you should see the rate plan 13000 is assigned to ABA, and that rate is locked in under the CDP.

Barring no problems, you should be able to rent with that code at JFK.

If you are under 25 and not GOLD, they WILL ask for corp ID. Happened every time before I signed up for GOLD renting from EWR/LGA/Midtown.

The problem with that is technically you CAN'T be gold if you're under 25.

I was Gold when I first signed up for Hertz, had a problem with one of my reservations once, and the lady CSR said "you're not even supposed to be Gold if you're under 25...I don't even know how you got to sign up".

So, after that, I got a letter in the mail saying they downgraded me to the regular #1 Club :td: :td: :td:

You can be GOLD if you sign up under a corporate CDP with the under 25 waiver in the contract. The big consulting firms have this in place. I've been GOLD since 22. Never had a problem. Before that, the desk always asked for corp ID. Once time I didn't have it, the guy refused to rent saying that he could let me rent with the corp rate without the id if over 25 but definitely not if under 25.

If you have a marriott rewards account (if not sign up for one). This code gives a 37% discount and allows for 21 and over.

You sure? I'll try this soon, if it does. I'm kinda skeptical, the Marriott?

Thanks.

seawolf,

OK, maybe you're right. I signed up for Gold first (under the US Airways promotional code), and then added the ABA CDP to my profile. Still, they downgraded me. Should I try again?

If ABA does allow for under 25 rentals, you need to switch your GOLD PREFERRED CDP to ABA. Simply adding to the your profile doesn't work. You can't switch it online. You have to talk to someone.

The PREFERRED CDP govers the communications policy as well. Under my previous employers CDP, Hertz will not send me any email/mail. The communications options online are greyed out. After 25, I changed my PREFERRED CDP to AAA so that I get offers.

Thank you very much for your advice,

Can you please advise what is the actual RATE CODE of the marriot?

Thanks.

The Marriott Rate Code has two special offers, both of which are listed in the link provided. The CDP for both is 154080.

Guys:

I am under 25 too and have been renting from Enterprise for the longest time and crying about the fact that I lose out on good offers from the other players. Only recently did I realise that i could so easily have requested a CDP from this forum that allowed for it.

This was an interesting thread but on the link for the marriot offer I noticed the following T&C

Terms and Conditions: Advance reservation is required. Upgrade is subject to larger car availability at time of pickup. Maximum upgrade to a Premium (Class G) car. Minimum rental period is two days. Upgrade offer may not be available at some times in some locations especially during periods of peak demand. Blackout dates may apply. Minimum rental age is 25 (exceptions apply). ....

Anyone uner 24 try this booking and have it work?

I am paranoid about trying the ABA code and being asked for ID. Is there any other foolproof way of having this work for me?
