After several years with HH I decided to give a try to SPG. Requested a match status and got Platinum SPG.

I've read the program and I know that you do have a choice between points, fruits, wine, etc... as a special perk to Platinum. I checked-in with a Four Points last week and I was offered a card with the various options and I choose the 250 points. Earlier today I read that the points option was 500 points in Europe, but it has been changed lately and no longer available. My question is related to the number of points...should I have received 500 or 250 points with my Four Points stay last week? I couldn't find any information in the threads...

250.

Thanks for the info. However, does it mean that there is instance where one could get 500 points? If so, which ones?

It is 250 Starpoints at all Four Points by Sheraton hotels in Asia Pacific (AP), Latin America (LAD), and North America (NAD) divisions. Points are not an option in the Europe, Africa & Middle East (EAME) Division, but you should still get a choice card there at check-in. This is new to EAME and it was a soft launch where properties were given some leeway as to when they began their participation. Still, if you don't get a choice card at check-in, let Hotel Customer Service know so we can track their progress or lack thereof.

500 Starpoints is a choice at all other brands in AP & LAD. In NAD, The properties branded as being part of The Luxury Collection and St. Regis do not offer a choice card at check-in; however, they do give a locally-selected welcome amenity specific to their property.
