Both. There have been many threads on this forum about the HKG Sheraton with the comments equally split between + and -. Lots of reasons for that, perhaps foremost because it is run as 2 separate hotels: the Towers and the regular Sheraton. They share the building but have nothing in common otherwise. Towers is much nicer and much more expensive, with service that is superb (every bit as good as the other top-tier hotels in HKG, and these are some of the finest hotels in the world). The rest of the Sheraton is a mass-market convention type of hotel and just not in the same class as the Towers. Lots of people resent that the Plat upgrades don't cross over to the Towers -- and within Towers 90% of the rooms are the same, so the most upgrade you are likely to get is to harbour view from city view (there are 4 or 5 very nice Towers suites but those are almost always unavailable for upgrade). Lately the Sheraton has substantially raised its prices, making it poor value compared to the alternatives. My last stay at the Pen actually cost USD 20 per night more than the Sheraton Towers rate -- and the Pen is one of the 10 best hotels in the world. The Sheraton seems to sell out, and I like the Towers, but check price before you decide where to stay. HKG is very competitive, esp. at the high end; prices do vary a lot by specific date, though (more than any other city that I have seen, even 1 day difference could be 30% delta in the rate).
