I'm going to be on Maui and Kauai for 3 1/2 days each and thought I'd try to maximize some point opportunities. I'm staying at the Hyatts on both islands, but would not mind surrendering some of my time for points.

I assume that the major chains are still offering points for sitting through their presentations, anyone have recent experience on how much and which chaings are doing this?

The last time we were there the Marriott next to the Hyatt was offering $100 for the time share and the Westin just down the beach was offering 7500 Starwood points.

How long did each one take and how many times did you have to say 'no' at the end of them?

Well, the timeshare presentation itself is 90 minutes. However, we just told them straight up that we were interested in finding out more info for a 2BR to share w/my parents, but would not make a decision the same day. This helped set their expectations, & they definitely sped through the whole thing...avg time was 30 min.
