I am at the Four Seasons Scottsdale now and booked through the Centurion Travel Service.

No benefits at all. No upgrade although the property is only 45% full according to the staff.

No special welcome gift. No card outlining FHR benefits although I pay the FHR rate. No free lunch. No free breakfast (so far). Stay will be 6 nights.

Well, we eat here anyway and at check-out I will show them what I was entitled to and refuse to pay all breakfast completely and all lunches because daily continental breakfast and one lunch for two are included in the rate IMO.

Is there anything I should do ? Talk to the GM ?

Positive experience of FHR benefits:
At the MO NYC a week ago I had a very pleasant stay with a multiple category upgrade from Central Park View room to a Premier Corner Hudson River View on the highest floor (54) of the hotel, a free lunch at Asiate restaurant, free high quality chocolate box and complimentary full American breakfast. Got a card at check-in clearly outlining all benefits. Very nice!

List your problems getting FHR benefits here and please offer some advice on how to best get them without looking like a beggar at the front desk.

Pick-up the phone and ask to speak to the General/Duty Manager. Do not wait until check-out.

Obviously there was either a problem with your reservation or a problem with the check-in staff interpreting it. Do not confront the front desk staff - it's a waste of time in situations like this.

flamboyant 1,

I think it's the best that you speak to GM.

I think FHR rate is higher than a normal rate. Each amenity attaches to the FHR rate. You were not able to get those amenity. I think you do not need to pay FHR rate.

You should tell a claim to GM or Centruion Travel Service.

Definately speak to the manager straight away. It is probably a minor oversight and they will be falling over themselves to help you from then on. :)

Just talked to the Assistant GM. He asked the front desk boy to get a card with the benefits stated on them. No card available, new ones have to be ordered he said. Then ask front desk boy what the benefits are. He did not know them. Of course I did and told them both. No they will be bending over backwards, I hope. Will get everything stated on the Amex website. Sometimes you just have to ask for everything. :td:

I prefer not having to ask! ^

Just talked to the Assistant GM.

Oh no! Not the dreaded "I'm an assistant manager, can I help?" To which you answer, "Yes you can my boy - go and find the manager for me please."

I had a similar experience at MO-NY. They knew what I was getting through FHR/Cent. and explained everything at check-in. Problem was that they still charged me for all of my benes at check-out. So I had to go through each line item with a pen and cross them out and hope the front desk people agreed.

There is only one hotel on the planet (RC-NY,CP) that has not only recognized the FHR benes, but also followed it up by not placing the charges on the bill.
