Having done a search before my flights on Luxair and not finding any FT info, I thought I would include a short something on these 2 flights. LX has it's own FF plan (with few benefits) or miles can be transfered to LH.

LUX-LHR
ERJ-145
7A- Economy

Checkin in the small LUX terminal was painless and quick, with my signifigantly over 40kg bag not being mentioned from the staff, not even a "heavy" sticker. A quick walk through security and I was at the gate. Total time from arrival at the airport to sittnig down at the gate : 12 minutes.

Boarding started soon after and we were all seated with the doors closed 15 minutes prior to departure. I was offered a newspaper in English / French/ or German as well as a packaged hand wipe from 1 of 2 flight attendants on this 50 seat aircraft. In comparing it to Air Canada's RJ's I can only say this aircraft is infinitely better. Seating is 1-2 with atleast 34' seat pitch possibly more (I didn't whip out ruler).

Flight A short taxi in Lux and we were airborne on this whisper quiet jet to London. A very short few minutes after takeoff I was offered a 10' sandwich (choices were cheese, prosoitto (sp?), and another I don't recall. Shortly after that I was given a small bottle of wine (which was excellent, so i had another ( and another Sandwich!!)). I think it important to note that these sandwichs were freshly made on very high end bread with parmigino cheese and roast red pepper (and NO sauce on it ^ , packets available if you desired mayo, mustard ect..) I would pay easy 7-8 $$ for such a sandwich happily on the ground. Can you tell I was very immpressed by this sandwich... Next came the drink cart (3rd time on this 50 minute flight), and finally a small box of chocolates was offered for dessert. By this time we were decending out of our obligatory 7 minute hold at LHR and landing.

Postflight Deplaning was quick at T2, and the bags were turning on the belt before I arrived.

I was (and am) very impressed with LuxAir and its service. Robert Milton (Pres. AC) needs to take this flight to see what a regional service could be.

Checkin & Boarding
I arrived at the airport in plenty of time, however the LH checkin agent (LH handles LUXAIR in FRA) could not find my ticket. She was able to pull up the seat resv, but not the actual ticket. Thus I spent 45 minutes going between a few counters before someone managed to track it down at the City ticket office desk and have it transferred to me at FRA. I have no idea how this ticket got misdirected, but whatever...It's now 20:50 and my is leaving at 21:15. I quickly check my bag and head to A26 for departure. Security at FRA was quick and painless, I made it to the gate by 21:05 to have a snarling fat and elderly LH agent give me crap about being the last to board, and how everyone else made it on time.... I made my way down to the bridge to the aircraft slightly irrate at the Frau.Sandyvagina, but looking forward to the sandwichs..mmmm.. I was greeted by 2 smiling and happy LUXAIR FA's. Seeing my flight bag i one hand and my coach ticket in the other, one of them asked who I flew for, and promptly upgraded me to " just take one of the seats in front of the curtain" Score. I sat down in 10 A and was quickly offered a candy and newspaper (and hand wipe), the doors were closed and we were on our way. J class on this B737 in the same business class I had on LH or BA. All 3 seats are there on each side, with the middle empty between A and C , and D and F. There was a hard fold out tray covering the middle seat .

Flight Amazingly, the flight was only 35 minutes, yet I recieved all the same service on as the previous flight. These FA's were really working. 2 sandwichs, 3 glass' of champagne (Mumms), 2 boxes of chocolates and we were touching down in LUX.

Post Flight A quick taxi in, walked off the plane, across the tarmac to the terminal, and grabbed my bag which arrived on the belt as I did in baggage claim.

Once again a great LUXAIR experience. If you are fortunate enough to be flying AirLux and are wary of the unknown, fear not. LUXAIR is a first class product all around

Thanks for an interesting report! Indeed we don't normally hear about airlines, such as Luxair, much. The service is very impressive. The sandwiches sound delicious with boxes of chocolate.

On a forty minutes flight from LAS to LAX on TED a month ago, I got a choice of lukewarm lemonade or water... Luxair sounds excellent!

On LHs new intra-European and intra-German C class product you can also get some food even better than a sandwich if you are lucky. but it seems the total atmosphere in those LUXAIR planes was great and enjoyable. Unfortunately I am not holding a bank account in Luxembourg so no need to go there :(

I noticed from the Airlinemeals.net site that LUXAIR had great meals. However according to a friend their fares are pretty high to some destinations where they have no competition. A few years ago I believe they had a nasty crash; a plane that was landing in Luxembourg,

prosoitto (sp?)

I think you are referring to Prosciutto, which is Italian for ham.

Great trip report! ^ I hope to fly LUXAIR once.

By the way, I just took a look at this picture of the cabin (http://www.airliners.net/open.file/518243/L/)... that looks very comfortable!
