Hi,

Is there a way to avoid penalty when postponing return flight?
I really appreciate your advice.

Thanks!

I don't believe there is any way to circumvent the $150 change fee, + the difference of fare. If you have status with HP it might help, but there are no guarantees. Sorry mate.

Begging sometimes works but unlike Alaska, they don't waive the change fee for top-level elites (which is why Alaska gets our business).

$150 change fee??? Most America West non-refundable fares carry a $100 change fee, not $150.

Also, there is (in general) no additional fare collection for changing the return once travel has commenced.

My apologies about being $50 off. Below, from HP's website:

" Any change to this reservation (including flight, dates, or cities) is subject to a $100 change fee per passenger. The new itinerary will be priced at the lowest available published fare at the time of change, which may result in a fare increase. "
