Nice to see that Hertz has finally made some improvements to their website. I'm not sure why they added blue icons (makes me think of Alamo), but overall the changes are positive. The web site also appears to be much faster and less likely to hang up while making a reservation.

It's too bad that they code specifically to Internet Exploder from MicroSloth. You can't use Firefox on any platform, or Safari on Macintosh to edit/view/update any previous reservation.

I've suggested numerous times that they rid themselves of the dependency on one of the most dangerous browsers ever invented, but they don't seem to get the idea....

Oh well, what do we know. We're only users....

Now if you could only enter your location/dates/times and have the base rate of every car class available listed on one page (see: Avis), that would be great!

I agree that it is a nice redesign.

Noticed this morning when making reservations that under the pickup/return location and address it lists "Location Type". I had MKG put in and it said "Location Type: Corporate". I changed the location to TVC (which I know to be an independent) and it came up "Location Type: Independent Licensee". Hadn't noticed this feature before. Useful info when you know up front you'll be battling an indepenent for coupons/points/miles or just avoiding them altogether.

This is a useful feature - now you will know when you make the reservation if you will get ZE1 points or not. Thanks to Hertz's lack of uniformity for ZE1, I rent from the competition at "non-participating" locations.
