Hilton HHonors - So Do I Have the Room?

I booked an award stay at the Cavalieri in December. I didn't have enough points in my account, so I "reserved" the room --- I can see the cert, and I assume that when I acquire the rest of the points in a month or so I can print the cert, they will deduct the points, and all will be well.
Can they give away (rent out or award to someone else) "my" room until such time as I actually pay for it (with points), or have I really reserved it?
Please tell me I'm worried about nothing. I'd sure hate to arrive in Rome with nowhere to go.

Provided your reservation has been properly set up (you can see it when logging into your account), you should have nothing to worry about. With Hilton, you do not have to have the certificate issued at the time of making an award reservation (unless you are making your award reservation online). You can also be using an award certificate issued in your name from someone else's account.

Whew! ... I think.
I don't think I could have made it on line, else they would have deducted the points immediately.
In any event, I'll be a Diamond after this week's stay, so if there's a problem I'll take it up with the Diamons Desk.

I don't think I could have made it on line, else they would have deducted the points immediately. Before the "full" online award booking capability rolled out (April?) you could book an award on the Beta site without having enough points in your account. So the answer depends somewhat on when you booked.
