US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Cancelling a ticket bought with a voucher

Here's a question that I couldn't find the answer for on the forums:
If a ticket is purchased with a $$$ voucher and then the ticket is cancelled within the 24 hour period, how does the voucher get handled?
Thanks in advance for the replies.

I was going to CXL a fly 3 certificate last week and asked what would happened. I was told that the certificate would be mailed back to me. I have no idea if the same is true with a voucher, but I would think it would be. They may even be able to issue you a credit in the record of the CXLD flight for future use.
Hope this helps

If you used an x dollar off voucher and the ticket had already been issued, my guess is the value of the ticket (minus a change fee if applicable) would be good for one year. So let's say you had a $50 voucher and bought a $500 ticket. You got charged $450 for the ticket. If you cancel the ticket, the full value of $500 should be good for one year, minus a $100 change fee for domestic or a $200/$300 change fee for international (if the ticket rules had a change fee noted).
Vouchers are in essence MCOs, and this is how MCOs are handled. Just remember to cancel the ticket prior to the ticketed departure.

Yes, its a $-off voucher.
But if its a cancelled ticket within 24 hours, wouldn't it be refunded back to you via the original payment method? For instance, if I bought a $500 ticket and used a $50 voucher and then put the remaining $450 on my CC, if I cancelled within 24 hours wouldn't the $450 get refunded back to my CC?
I've cancelled tix within 24 hours before and had the CC refunded with the full amount. I'm just trying to figure out how things play differently when using a $$$-off voucher.

Not quite your situation, but late last year I used a voucher along with a credit card to purchase a ticket, but the flight was cancelled due to weather.
The entire amount, including the voucher amount, was refunded to my credit card without me ever needing to call.

I bet this is what would happen. Twice in the past I've used non-refundable tickets to purchase Y tickets. Y tickets are technically refundable, but my travel agent told me applying the value of a non-refundable ticket to a Y ticket would make the Y ticket non-refundable as well. Regardless, I ended up not taking the trips, and US refunded the full amount of the Y ticket.

Hi, About a month ago I bought a couple of tickets on USair and cancelled then within the 24 hour window. Does anyone know when the money will be back on my card. When should I call them? Who should I call?

A month ago?! You should have seen the credit on your online statement within a day or two.
