California - Cell phone waiting area

I spend more time picking people up than actually flying. Have you tried this, and isn't it surreal? I love it! Used to wait at Harbor Island, but this is too super to pass up.

I've seen this on my way to Term 2, but never knew exactly how it works.

You just pull in, park and wait for a call from the person you're picking up, then swing by the front of the terminal and they will be there waiting.

There is sort of a strangeness to all these cars, trucks and limos parked facing the same direction, usually evenly spaced out so no two vehicles are in close proximity. It's quiet, then you hear a phone ring and you look around to see which driver comes to attention and drives off.

There are also 4-5 handicapped spaces. Odd, because no one ever gets out of their car.
