I just received a handful of postcards to fill out for employees who deserve a certificate of excellence. Just wondering if anyone else got these?

The ones sent to Falls Church? I'd like to get more. I understand from an FA that this is bigger compliment for them than calling CA. Calling CA gets a nice note in their file. The Excellence postcards, however, go into some sort of monthly lottery whereby employees can win prizes, in addition to a notation in their file.

Just got them today in the mail together with my new Gold Preffered Card ;)

There is also a link on-line that you can go to since the post cards have limited space.

I don't like the online version because it will not allow you to send it without the employee's ID number. Sometimes I only get the full name. I don't really like asking for the employee's ID -- I always thank someone for great service, but I don't like putting them on the spot to provide ID as they never know what it could be used for (good or bad).

Trust me on this one. If they know your thanking them and your going to write them up for it. They are more than happy to provide it. At least the few employees that I have were very happy to give it to me.

I sometimes fill in the rest of the card & leave the Employee ID field blank. I then give the card to the employee and she fills in her ID and last name & mails it herself.

But that card is so small. I usually have a lot to say. Well to each his own I guess.

That is exactly the way I handle the Certificates. ^

Just put a question mark in that field and it will work. Trust me ;)

Thanks for the link. I need one after some great US people in LAS helped me out last night to correct a UA/Ted screwup. I will document this on FT when I have time. In short, communication on codeshare airlines... what's a codeshare connection?

what's a codeshare connection?

I sure hope that's not what --they-- said to you.

That's what the US gate agents said about the way the UA/Ted people work with them. I think the correct quote was "We deal with these guys everyday and they do a bad job working with us".

For a start read the good side (US side) here (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=340178)

When I get time later, I'll post the UA side in their forum and link it here.

Thanks.Macska. I never tried putting a ?? in the box. I did try without putting anything in the ID field and it wouldn't work. I'll try your method next time. Sometimes the obvious answer is right in front of my face and I still don't see it.
