The idea of dining in the dark started in Europe as a way of enabling people to experience what it's like to be blind, but it was only matter of time before it became a gimmick for singles events. Dine In The Dark makes its Chicago debut July 27 with a four-course "gourmet meal" for the 20s-40 age group at Dave and Buster's, 1030 N. Clark St. Part of the deal is that the food is a secret, except to the servers, who wear night vision goggles. Candles are lit at the end, so you can see your tablemates
