I may end up having my next gig there. I was wondering if I should rent a car in LAX or to transfer to a Santa Barbara flight and back track from there? (to avoid SoCal traffic of course)

(to avoid SoCal traffic of course) Don't count on the traffic from Santa Barbara to be any better - it can be pretty bad in the afternoon. Never flown there, but I believe United Express has service into Oxnard - that might be an option. Otherwise I would choose Burbank. Here's a good alternative route to Thousand Oaks from BUR 5 North to 118 West to 23 South to 101. jsm Jul 31, 04, 12:58 am If you time it correctly you can do Thousand Oaks to Burbank in 40 minutes. jeffreyt Aug 22, 04, 12:29 pm Having lived in Renton for 2-1/2 years, I commuted weekly on AS from SEA-BUR. I would recommend that as your option. choster Aug 22, 04, 1:35 pm United Express serves OXR but only via LAX. It's closer than BUR and much closer than SBA, but you'd have to transit through LAX and then go down the 101, which can be ruinous. |
