After emailing back and forth between my eBay account manager they finally got a response from the people who run the program at eBay. Here's copy of the response.

Hello holtju2,

I just wanted to update you on the anything points issue you emailed in about earlier. I have heard back from one of our anything points specialists and they have informed me that Priceline changed the point structure to the following:

1 - 2 star hotels earn 500 points
2.5 - 3.5 star hotels earn 1000 points
4 - 5 star hotels and resorts earn 1500 points

I apologize for the confusion. Thanks again for your patience and thank you for using eBay.

Regards,

XYZ.

2.5 - 3.5 star hotels earn 1000 points

Can you provide an example of a PL 3.5* hotel??

I've never seen a 3.5* - perhaps this is the Boutique rated ones?

That rings a bell... I think 3.5* is the inofficial rating for a Boutique Hotel, and 4.5* is the inofficial rating for a Resort.

In the HTML source code, you can see that Priceline uses Boutique for a 3.5* hotel and Resort for a 4.5* hotel.

I remember seeing this information some time ago in another thread.

My travel has not permitted Pl as of late. Is this per "stay" or per "night" (regardless of booked all at once or booked each individual day)?

chobby100, the points are awarded per booking, based on hotel star rating. A 1 night stay at 1* earns the same amount as a 10 night stay at the same 1* if made under the same booking.

Can someone advise who we talk to about missing ebay anything points for a priceline stay booked 8/5? Thanks.

I'm missing points for an August 5 stay also. Booked the same day. Where should we take our questions?

I also made a PL hotel reservation on Aug 5, until this point I had been accustomed to receiving an email from ebayanythingpoints@ebay.com entitled "You've Earned eBay Anything Points!" telling me that my points had posted but in this case I never received the email. HOWEVER when I actually went to my PayPal account the points had indeed posted by Sat Aug 7.

For those of you that are missing points is it possible that you are waiting for the "You've Earned eBay Anything Points!" email that never came instead of actually going to your PayPal account to check if the points posted? Just a thought...

In addition to the July 27th snafu i am missing points from Aug 5th. They are not in my paypal account. Priceline confirmed that i am owed 1500 points but need to wait 30 days for the points to post.

I have never once gotten an email, "You've Earned eBay Anything Points!" and I've earned MANY Anything Points.

No, I check my account balance directly and look through the individual transactions. And I'm missing one (and only one) rental car transaction for 500 points.

I've never received any of these confirmation emails either, but I get my points. Interesting.

I have received all the points as well but never received a single "confirmation" email either. eBay's and PayPal's confirmation emails are notoriously unreliable so you never can count on receiving them.
