http://www.asiamiles.com/am/1,,89235_111020_eng,00.html

To summarize:
1) You buy Kellogg's promotional pack (cereals or whatever)
2) Each gives you a 100-asiamiles onpack certificate.
3) Collect 5 certificates and mail it in
4) you get 500 asiamiles
5) in addition, each transaction enters you into draw for 100,000 asiamiles

I think it's time for some charity work, people. This seems better deal than buying a "gift asiamiles" on the web, isn't it? Just donate all the cereals and you get yourself some points and satisfaction.

I think the promotion is limited to HK. Sorry, I should have mentioned earlier.

Did the sums on this, but the cheapest 100AM pack is HK$21.6, so the cost is something around US 2.75 cents per AM which is more than I would pay simply for the miles.

Of course if you eat the stuff anyway then it's good value.

What's interesting is that when I walked into a supermarket in Macau, I found Kelloggs Cornflakes boxes with American Airlines AAdvantage miles coupon. Perhaps, the Asia Miles GM walked into the same supermarket in Macau and got the idea to do something with Asia Miles. You never know with these type of things.

I must confess I used to buy Kelloggs cereal boxes with AA miles coupons whenever I visited HKG and SIN. :p I never found any in BKK but it was quite easy to find them in HKG and SIN.

What were the prices?

When I'm in HKG, I'd love to buy some cheap AA miles and donate the cereal to a local charity.

It is indicated in the Terms and Conditions that I would need to send in with 5 certificates and one completed redemption form. Any idea where I can get the redemption form to send in with the certificates to claim my 500 Asia miles?

Thanks.

Not sure - but why don't you call the Promotion Enquiry Hotline: (+852) 2635 5951

Anyone have any ideas on bringing down the cost anymore through coupons/ect? I'm stopping through HK in sept and considering picking up a lifetime supply of kelloggs. At 2.75, these are still cheaper than buying miles from CX at 3.25 c or spg at 3.

You're going to struggle to find that many packs unless you make some prior arrangements... supermarkets in HK are probably smaller than what you are used to and have multiple deliveries per day - they don't hold large amounts of stock in general.

Just got the first 500 miles from his promotion posted into my account--even though the terms and conditions say you won't get any miles until 4-6 weeks after the promotion finishes at the end of November.

It's good value--especially if you eat the stuff (or can force yourself to do so).
