Does anyone know why? Everytime I have flown this route it seemed to do have great loads. I actually prefer Midway to O´Hare.
I hope they are not pulling completely out but from what I can see in their schedule. Sept 3rd looks like the last day.
If any of you have more information let me know.

I can't confirm that it is gone, but it would not surprise me by their past performance. They are probably getting skinned alive by all of the LCC competition at MDW.

I do not understand it. They are matching Southwest's fares. Thet are offering mileage. Or is it a case of selling on a loss and being able to make it on the volume!

I think you just answered your own question. They are matching Southwest's fares but of course not their costs. In PHL you have have a slightly different situation because much of the traffic is not O/D.

At Chicago/Midway, US only has 3xERJ to CLT. How do you expect to compete like this? This would be the 2nd withdrawl from MDW.

Actually, SW does not currently serve PIT and Charlotte, but ATA serves both destinations from MDW. Even if the seats are full, U probably loses money on every seat. Hopefully, SW will start service to PIT and CLT soon. Passengers in those cities could sure use some relief from the high fares!!!

I was just about to comment on this. Didn't they only resume service to MDW a year ago or so?
