Well, American's one of (albeit not the only( the airline that one that's been assigned Air Marshals to ride shotgun.

Secondly, some time ago (granted I couldn't find it via search) there was a thread by an FTer who actually engaged someone he thought (and turned out to be) a marshal. I remember that the consensus on the thread was that *it wasn't a good idea to call attention to them and possibly get in trouble for interfering with them in some way.

If you want to move the thread to a board you deem more appropriate, (or perhaps duplicate it on all airline boards); your call.

*The more I think about it, I believe that thread's originator recounted being questioned after deplaning.
