I just want to know is there an arrivals lounge in LHR for CX??
(For F or J Class pax)??
I am so used to the BA Arrivals Lounge in LHR and the Molton Brown Spa.
Another question I want to know is the load on the HKG-LHR-HKG in October on CX.
I know from BA/QF it is slightly better during the autumn season, but as I never travelled to LHR on CX before, what are the loads like.
I just want to assess the situation before committing to 95K worth of hard earned Asia Miles.

Please be more specific as to the date of travel. It is very difficult to ascertain the loads in October.
There is no arrivals spa at LHR for CX passengers per se. But unofficially CX F/J passengers can use the one over at American Airlines'. Do a search and see : http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=187337&highlight=arrivals+lounge

I want to travel in Mid-End of October (from 19th onwards) to LHR and come back in early November. (5-10th Bov)
I check the loads at the moment for both directions. All class in showing 9 seats (= Full Availble) However for F Class it is 4.
I want to know has CX changed the CRS so that they only release 4 seats at a time (EVEN for 744). I know on a 334/346/333 they have to restrict it to F4A4 because there are only 8 seats. But I seem to recall CX released more seats in the past eg. F9A9.
Also normally is F Class fully book during this period?

It depends on WHERE you are viewing your availability from.. the CX website?
Their booking engine will only display a maximum of 4 F seats at a time even when no seats have been sold. You can be sure that there are more seats available after the initial 4 are taken.
CX does not necessarily open seats up for award bookings anytime. Sometimes you'd have to go on a waitlist even when the booking class availability is wide-open. That way, CX yield management may control the number of seats made available to award bookings.

I checked the Availability on Sabre and also itn.net
Just have another question, can you WL on Z Class upto the date on travel? (Lets say given you had an unused award upgrade certificate)

I dearly love CX but have flown BA several times HKG-LHR specifically because I needed to have the use of their arrivals lounge and MB Spa due to schedule pressures. The AA arrivals lounge is poor compared to the BA facility, and there is no Spa equivalent. So if this is important to you then it has to be BA (or QF, also allowing access). Otherwise CX is quite a bit better in F; and F was sold out the one time that I did fly CX LHR-HKG. FAs indicated that it was running full now (maybe time for another flight, but CX can't get slots at LHR).
CX is doing incredibly well on the LHR flights, according to the FAs I spoke to. Perhaps this was helped during the time of travel (I just got back) by the British/HK school holidays.

I guess If I travel in LAte October and early November = low season.
What are my chances in getting the Z Class upgrade award?
