Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Corporate deals

I had lunch today with a local bigshot of a multinational bank, and he saw my CX MPC card when we paid. He proceeded to tell me that he was a big CX fan and his bank had a deal with CX where his 2000 staff in 5 Asian cities pay around 900 and 1200 USD per business class rtn. to/from the US and Europe respectively. I really don't know much about corporate discount schemes but this seems absolutely outrageous. I guess he was pulling my leg ???
Whilst I can't comment on authenticity of such deal, I certainly hope these are not eligible for mile accural! Let's talk about fairness

HSBC or Citibank might have some special deals with CX but I highly doubt it is that low.
I know that HSBC staff get special deals with CX themselves but as far as I know it's in coach only.

He was definitely pulling your leg and with fares as low as that, it must be in Economy Class. Knowing CX and the way they do their business, I can guarantee you that they would not give away their J class for such a low price - you must be crazy to do that.

I am familiar with a number of the big banks' deals on CX J for HKG-LHR-HKG and none of them comes below HK$20,000 = US$2,500.

I thought so. I guess he misspoke -- seems more like Economy class. But then again, do bankers fly economy class?? :D (Taking christep's figures he could have meant J one-way too.)

2500$ could well be J RT.
as there have been such deals ex-US widely available...
but that is the lowest cx fare could get to
