Starwood Preferred Guest - easiest way to obtain SPG50 certificate's

Does anyone know the easiest way to obtain SPG50 certificate's? Are there certain promotions you can sign up for to get these? PLEASE HELP! Thank you, Jim

The "easiest" way to get spg50's would be by paying 1000 starpoints and getting as many as you want!

The only recent promo that I can remember was something I got thru my bank HSBC. AFAIK it was only for "HSBC Premier" customers and you could earn a max of 2 spg50 certs (1 after each qualifying stay) until may 31st.

They can sometimes be found in the Coupon Connection as well.

If you are in the Phoenix area, stop by the Sheraton Crescent Hotel. I stayed there for a night earlier this year. At the front door, there is an information desk that has a sign asking if you would like a free 50% Starwood certificate. It made me stop and inquire. The certificate is yours for the asking as long as you let the person give you a short pitch (as you stand there) about a nearby timeshare. I advised I was in from Hawaii, not interested in the timeshare and she gave me the certificate with a smile. It took me about 30 seconds.

I second that. William provided SPG50s for every FTer who attended the mega London Do last November as well as a number of other SPG goodies. ^

Now really SanDiego1K, when something is distributed at a pub, do you expect anyone to remember? ;) However, I believe you are correct, and I used mine for a pleasent stay at the SheratonTowers in Pretoria. Easiest way is to redeem a 50% off award. If you are staying at the property it is used at for a couple of nights, you'll more than earn the points back, and there are actually locations where there is a reasonable cost savings over discounted SPG.com rates.
