Not sure if this is just at the properties I frequent or not, but has anyone else noticed that the TVs at Starwood have a large number of missing or empty channels? I don't spend a lot of time watching TV in my room, but get a little frustrated when trying to find CNBC in the morning and 1/3 of the channels on the cable box are basicly empty.

Uh, no. But I would be interested in a thorough analysis of each hotel chain and their ratio of used to unused channels. Heck, who wouldn't be interested in that? :D

I find that starwood hotels tend to have very few channels (relative to standard cable at home). Starwood usually has somewhere around 15 to 20 channels, versus 70+ channels on most cable systems. I also don't usually have time to watch lots of tv when travelling, but it is good to watch something you want to watch and not be limited. I find that other chains offer better channel coverage (residence inn, garden inns etc).

my main suggestion for tv channels in SPG hotels abroad would be at least one or two channels that have something besides news in English. It's boring to have to watch the CNN loop all the time.
