Hi there,

I have to go to Boston for two weekends in July (leisure trips) and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with any of the Boston properties (e.g., Holiday Inn Select Downtown..etc.) Any recommendations?

((Can't wait till the IC Boston opens..........))

- Thanks.

I stayed at the HIEX Cambridge for two nights last summer. The room was a pretty typical HIEX room, but the rest of the hotel, both inside and outside looked a bit dingy. Yet this hotel can still get roughly $90-$100 a night, and it was packed. At least they don't charge for parking.

It is about a 5-10 minute walk to the nearest "T" station, and then you have to go a few stops to get into downtown Boston.

There really isn't much in Cambridge for a tourist, so unless you really need to be there, I wouldn't recommend this location. I haven't stayed at any of the properties in Boston, but I have to believe they would be better than this one.

We've used the Holiday Inn Select downtown a couple of times. It's a great location and while we can't give it especially high ratings for anything else, it tends to be a decent value by comparison with many alternatives in the pricey Boston hotel market.

Does anybody know when the IC Boston is due to open?

Don't book your room quite yet.

They're hoping to start construction later this summer, with a projected opening date of mid-2006.

Ironically, the Boston IC will be just about on the site of the former worlwide headquarters of Sheraton.

I recently stayed at the HIEX in Cambridge this past month. I just wanted to add my two cents to this thread. I paid $88/night for a two-bed room. The surroundings seemed quite empty; however, there is a plaza with McDonald's, a Dunkin Donuts, pharmacy, and grocery store.

They shut down the nearest "T" station for renovation or whatever. But there is a free shuttle bus to another T station. The subway is very convenient, and I highly recommend any visitors who aren't renting a car to get a day pass.

Any other recent experiences to PC properties in BOS? :-: The GF wants to spend a weekend in our homebase and we still don't live right in the city. Wondering if there's anything recent on the HI Select or other properties.

Man, I can't wait til the IC opens.....anybody heard anything other than generic mid '06?
