Hilton HHonors - New Hampton Inn, San Clemente

The Hilton website showed a new HI being built in San Clemente, California. Opening date has been put back several times but recently showed a date of 28th June 2004. The hotel now seems to have disappeared completely from the website. Was planning to stay there at the end of August. Anyone have any info on this new HI? Any chance of it being open soon?

I've stayed at this hotel and it is a good Hampton for the area. It's right off the freeway and seems to be always pretty full.

If your looking for a Hilton property in the area, this is the only one for a long way.

Thanks for the info. There is also a DT in Dana Point, but it seems to get mixed reviews. I'm trying to decide where to stay for a wedding in San Clemente.

I just stayed for three days in a whirlpool suite. It was 'ok'. Seemed worn and tattered to be honest. 1st floor smelled of milldew when going to breakfast. Air conditioning in room was louder than a 747. Elevator lights were burnt out, and the business center was flooded and the carpet smelled of milldew. The room was clean, but old. Good if you need to be close to I-5...and like others have said...only Hiltion property for miles. I don't think I'll be returning.
