KLM Flying Dutchman - Interesting Connections

I was just doing some online award searchs for a possible trip later this year, and was offerred some interesting connection possibilities.

Between Amsterdam and Nairobi, Cairo & Dubai were offerred. That would have been an interesting way of getting to those places... for a brief period.

Are we allowed stopovers on award bookings ?

You can certainly stop over on a WBC award - not sure about Y.

You can make one stop-over on a RETURN-award, but you cannot book this online, I think. Keep us posted on your success (or not) - quite interesting to see if they allow you to make a stop-over on a non-direct route where a direct route is available.

Even when you can't stopover you can stay at a tranfer point for up to 24 hours - this is not considered a stopover. It depends on the schedule whether this is a possibility.

What did you book after all? Did you manage to fly via CAI or DXB with stop-over?

I have not booked yet - I am planning a possible RTW MR from Cairo later in the year, and just playing with possible routes...

So not planning on booking until Oct... anyway

You can book it on Expedia. It's KQ's daily flight from LHR, but once via ATH to pick up the Kenya Olympic Team.

By the way: They are dropping the Team on August 5th (flight KQ102 is then scheduled NBO-ATH-LHR).
