I need advice from you all FT experts. I made a mistake on my online reservation and didn't know about the mistake until a week later. When I found out about the mistake, I attempted to make a new reservation and cancel the old one but the rate has changed significantly.

I have a reservation for a minivan for 7/24 -7/30 (6 days), and I meant for it to be 7 days, 7/24-7/31. The rate I reserved is a WEEKLY rate, which is for 5-7 days. So, regardless whether I reserve the car for 5, 6, or 7 days, the same weekly rate applies.

I called Alamo to ask them to change my reservation to reflect 7 days (drop off on 7/31 instead of 7/30), they told me they cannot make that date change without changing the rate. The new rate is substantially higher - double my old rate. I even talked to the supervisor and she couldn't do anything either. She said the computer is designed where any change in the reservation will automatically prompt the new rate, regardless whether the new rate is higher or lower than the old rate.

I also asked if I leave the reservation alone for now and wait until I get to the counter and tell them to change the drop off date to 7/31, would I be charged the new rate? The supervisor said yes, either the new rate or additional daily rate applies.

My question to you is, does that make sense at all? With a weekly rate, am I entitled to keep the car for 7 days? What should I do? The rate I got is an excellent rate and I do not want to give it up. I've been searching everyday for the last 15 days and haven't found anything nearly that good.

Thanks!!!
