The new issue of the AAA magazine had an interesting promo. When you book your reservations during the month of July ( you only need to make the reservations in July but the promotion is good until Dec. 2005!) for selected Starwood Properties through the AAA website or their travel agents you get the third night free when you book two nights at the best available rate.....

Is there a rate code or a link explaining this a bit further? Thanks.

It is just a small blurb in my AAA magazine I got yesterday... says to call your AAA travel agent or 866-782-7737. When I re-read the blurb it does say the you have to arrive on a THU/FRIor SAT. and it is a pre-paid reservation..........

and remember, it is a third party website and therefore no points/benefits.
I called the number listed above. I was given options to choose reservations, spg, etc. The very nice agent I spoke with said I was talking with starwood preferred guest. I asked several times explaining that I understood that benefits were only given when booking with starwood, so I wanted to make sure it was starwood. The agent thought it was only expedia, etc that you did not get the starwood benefits from, you would get your benefits with travel agents. She said she was going to look into it, but she said this number was starwood. She was able to look for availability for the promotion, but you would not be able to book until July. The 2 resorts I asked about did not participate in the promotion.

When I called the number yesterday I too thought I reached a special desk at Starwood for AAA members... but she could not tell me whether the property Grande Bretagne was part of the promotion because it had not been loaded into the computer yet.....I might try again for your two resorts after the first of July since I don't think the promotion has been loaded for any of the participating hotels.......
Is it much different than this offer from Starwood's website (http://www.starwood.com/promotions/promo_home2.html?promoCode=X3M)

I think it is different....since they mention the Luxury Collection as part of the promo... your link does not.
