Does anyone have experience or a review of this hotel? What's the service like? How are the Tower rooms and the lounge? What kind of offerings in the lounge? I would appreciate any advice or reviews. Thanks.

Try a search on
San Jose

But in general - if this is the new one its fine - otherwise they all suck

I've tried the search and there's almost nothing there which is why I posted the questions.

Can you post the address of this hotel? If it is the one right across from the amusement park that is about 5 yrs old now it is very nice

This hotel is next to the convention center. In fact, it is connected to the convention center.
Stayed at this hotel about two years back. The lounge didn't impress me that much; except for the cheese cakes and the chocolate cakes for the evening (yummy, yummy).
Hotel is kind of old (the new one is Hilton Santa Clara which is across from Six Flag).

It is the one connected to the convention center which I will be staying in. I'd welcome any comments from recent stays in the hotel. Thanks.

Three stays here so far this year, including one weekend when the hotel was home to teams in a regional high school girls volleyball tournament...so I got to see the staff in action under stress.

Even that weekend, have always been treated well as a mere Gold. Rooms on the HHonors floor are comfortable, decent wine at night (plus a lovely view) in the lounge, and the bar and restaurant are just fine.

Doesn't seem like an older property to me. If it is, perhaps it was renovated in the not-so-distant past.

Aloha.

I stayed 4 times in this property, all on Priceline/Hotwire stay. Decent room size. Nice feather bed. Small freg. in the room. Lounge is fine, not insanely great. As HH Gold, upgrade is about 50%.

It's not new like the Marriott on the otherside of the convention center, but still relatively new.(Less than 10 year, IIRC) I would have not problem recommend it to people with elite status on paid stay.

.
just as an FYI, these threads are all old (most recent is Nov 03, most are 01/02) and I believe the OP wanted some recent info.

But HOW did you find them?? I searched myself and only got 2, neither of which are referenced above!

The original poster asked for "any advice or reviews." And claimed he made search but couldn't find it. So I became interested as I remember some of the older threads.

As for how I found them? Try search with "Jose Tower" or just "Jose." What I learned in library school is that sometime less is more. Plus I realized somes ago that FT doesn't index words with less than four letters in older threads.

It doesn't requires a MLIS degree, but dealing with complex and quirky databases at work daily certainly make searching FT more fun.

I stayed there a year ago for a con, and am going again in Sept. I actually reserved a towers room last time. I didn't think the room was all that great. It was your average cramped hotel room. Just enough room for a king size bed, armchair, little round magazine table and a desk. The towers lounge is nothing special. Interesting views, stale bagels, etc. The hotel look pretty new to me, though. There was also an odd smell in the lobby, although I think it might've been the pumpkins (it was around Halloween).
