I have always suspected that the security personnel at HND have no idea what they are doing. I have also wondered why for domestic flights it is necessary to put one's PC through the x-ray separately, but not for international flights.
Yesterday, my suspicions were confirmed, but I also got a chuckle out of it. After having put my carry-on through the x-ray, they took out a packet of spare shoe-laces and put them through the x-ray by themselves!!! What they were hoping to find, I do not know.... The fact that I had an AM/FM transceiver in my bag, various battery chargers and cables and a PC didn't seem to worry them....only the shoelaces! :D
