Hilton HHonors - Anybody familiar with Free Fall $300 credit/person?

I'm going to a friends wedding in San Juan in August and saw this promotion on the Caribe Hilton's website. If you book a room for $310 a night, stay three nights or more, they will give you a credit up to $300 per person for your airfare. I'll call the hotel for details, but figured I'd ask here too.

Has anybody used this promotion in the past? Do they really just give you a $300 credit per person against the final bill (or whatever air costs if it's less then that). If you have three people in the room, will you be paying $10 a night for the room? Or is the credit for stupid things, like gum in the gift shop only?

Of course it all depends on what the room rate you can get is without the deal but three nights at $160 a night works out to $480, three nights at $310 with a $600 credit works out to be $310, which appears to be a significantly better deal.

Count me as another person looking for an answer to this question. With a 3 night stay at the Marriott in San Juan during August, this would prompt me to switch to the Hilton.

Sounds like a great offer, but there are a few caveats that may or may not apply to you. First, the room rate is from $310 a night, which means that on most dates it could be significantly higher than that. Second, your stay must include Sunday or Monday night stay. And, as always, the offer is subject to availability.

FWIW I stayed at the Caribe Hilton in September 2003 (Thursday - Sunday) for something like $120 per night.

I'll try to call tomorrow and get the details from them.

The $310 rate is available on the days I have to be there, and it includes the weekend days required. The main question is will I get a $600 credit against the bill which makes it like $150 less then the lowest rate for the stay.

Stay tuned, I'll call and ask what the catch is tomorrow.

I'm sure you show your airline ticket and they will pay for your ticket up to three hundred dollars. If your ticket cost $248.00, they'll give you $248.00.
