Hilton HHonors - Need downtown LA Hilton Family Hotel

I am in LA next week and my company booked me at the Hyatt. My corporate rate at the Hyatt is $135 per night. If anyone knows of a Hilton Family that is downtown that I could get into for $135 or less then I'd sure appreciate it.

I called the Hilton Checkers downtown, but the reservationist would only quote me rack rates and didn't seem interested in matching my corporate rate. I can get the Hilton LAX, but that would mean driving into downtown and having to pay for parking, etc. every day.

You can stay at Hilton Garden Inn at LAX, it is nice and next to subway station with access to Downtown LA (Day pass US$3)

Pasadena is an easy commute, by car, bus or train. And it's a nice place to stay; MUCH better than downtown LA. There's a Hilton there, and, as I recall, a couple affiliated properties.

Checkers has had great reviews, and I've been looking forward to staying there sometime. What rates are you finding on Hilton.com?

And, really, who cares what the reservationist says? Talk to a manager if you have a special request or negotiation.
