Travel Technology - modem adapters for Europe

I'm going to Denmark in 2 weeks. I want to bring my laptop and do some work and email while there. I can't remember if the phone plus will fit into a US type rj-11(?) modem jack on my laptop. If not where can I buy an adaptor? I can use ethernet in a hotel but part of my trips will be staying at the in-laws place.
I'm also looking for an ISP to use while there.

I don't know where you can find an individual telephone adapter for Denmark (an odd shaped plug, used in Portugal as well), maybe there might be a store at the airport you arrive at in Denmark that might have one, but the closest thing I could find is the Targus connection kit for Europe (http://www.targus.com/us/product_details.asp?sku=PA021U) that may be more than what you needed.

How about visiting a computer/electronics store in Denmark and asking for one there? France also has a bizarre plug and adapters are pretty easy to find there. Don't see why Denmark wmould be significantly different in that regard.

Yep, looks like the adapter I have in my kit. I assume you already have the appropriate AC power adapter plug?

I'm not sure. The laptop power brick is rated for Europe already. Are you talking about something else?

Are you talking about something else? Most laptops have a universal power supply that works on all kinds of voltages and line frequencies, but you still need the right plug to plug it into the wall receptacle over there. Oh, I see. Yes I have those already. This is not my first trip there, just the first with a laptop,
Thanks

Most hotels have adapters - so this should be coverd.
In case the private place you are staying has a PC just disconnect the cable from the PC and connect it to your laptop.
Otherwise it is typically easy (and much cheaper) to buy adapters locally in electronics stores in the specific country.
Internet providers like AOL have local numbers in many countries, so you should be covered there. Typically they charge extra for connecting from outside your home country.
Also most european countries have providers which charge by the minute with the regular phone bill. Not sure about danmark, in germany www.freenet.de is one of them. Ideal for a private place. No contracts etc. Charges are in the range of 1 - 2 cents per minute.

I've just realized that my computer has the USA 3 pin grounded plug but the house I'm staying at only has the 2 pin Danish style plug. Is there any way to safely run my laptop there? I know I could use a US style cheater into a DK type adapter, but I'm not comfortable with that.
