US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Are XOXO's Missing in Action?

During my past few flights there has been something missing from the experience. No, I have not run across the demoralized or incompetent employees noted in other threads. Haven't lost a bag in Philly recently. This is far more important. THERE HAVE NOT BEEN ANY XOXO's ON MY FLIGHTS!
Is this a fluke? Does management know that AtlanticBeach will be on that aircraft and a special team from MIB comes in to remove all traces from people's memories? Have I entered a chocolate free zone?
It was barely six months ago that I felt betrayed by the loss of my dearly departed Milanos. Remember, Milanos had 1 gram of protein per package! This has been a major change to my dietary habits.
I'm mad. I'm going to write to however is responsible for this heinous action. Is it the same guy who is the Managing Director of Pen Marks on First Class Seats? Aargh! Please help.
Just had some Friday on my CLT - DEN flight. I think things will be ok.

Good news. Many thanks. I can feel my pulse rate slowing down.
But, am I being targetted? Two more segments without chocolate and I might start feeling paranoid. :D

I was told by the PHL-BOS FA last week that they are not always available when it gets hot--get kinda melty.

Correct. I was told the same thing by a friend who is an f/a. Don't expect to see the xoxo bars regularly until after 9/15/04.

I was told the same as foodguy , that they melt in the summer and will probably be subsituted during warm weather.
I still asked my FA to search for some and she found a few.

Weren't milanos all-weather cookie bars? I cannot remember not having them during the summber. I like the XOXO bars but this might build the case for a return the milanos movement

Neo: You read my mind. I asked my FA and she said no-go. The memo just said XOs were pulled in warm weather due to melting issues.

I too have been told that the XOXO bars are being removed for the summer, but as recently as last week some of my flights still had the XOXO bars. Apparently they are using up what they have and then not restocking for the time being.

I can cofirm XOXO's are gone also this weekkend PHL-LAX-PHL. FA's didn't give the reason when asked. I said it was probably because of their popularity and therefore the cost to US and FA's said 'I guess'. I hope that this is not nickel and diming to get their costs down. :(

Good luck (near 100%) on XOXOs up to now, with recent ones
appearing to be bottom of the barrel (stuck together, crumbled,
or similar). The other day's FA said no more until the fall, so
stock up, but she hoped they'd be back then rather than staying
with the Milanos, a rumored permanent change.
Which reminds me: anyone know of a retail site that carries
XOXOs? sherwoodbrands.com was not forthcoming, and all other
Ruger products I've tried have been second-rate.

Last night's turkey croissant sandwich on the redeye from PHX-PHL came with chips and an XOXO. But there were none in the snack basket this morning from PHL to BWI...it did look like there was some sort of dark chocolate square though (I didn't get a good enough look to see what brand).
Perhaps we'll still see the tasty XOXO bars packaged with cold entrees on "snack" flights, as the chocolate can stay cool that way!

I've bought them (cheap) at the Christmas Tree Shops in the BOS area... I also was on a LAX/CLT red-eye last night and we had the cold turkey croissant sandwich and XOXOs. After they served the cabin, it appeared the FA's heated up sandwiches for themselves. The smell from the oven was quite a tease for someone that hadn't had time for dinner! I'd had an awful evening trying to rearrange my schedule to get on this flight instead of the 3+ hour late LAX/PHL I was booked on.

Now now . . . I'd prefer to call it "artwork." This "artwork" is what makes US First Class unique.

Thanks for the info, mbmbbost ... I've never voluntarily
gone to a Christmas Tree Shop, but maybe I'll start.
My gf however just ordered me a case of them from
the only place she could find that stocks them:
www.gbswimports.com
Gotta love it ... them ... her ... whatever.

Thanks for posting this link. I'll order some when it cools off in the fall.

Turns out gbswimports is a wholesale site, and there is
another place that sells them retail in 72-pack units:
Apex Gift Foods
2815 Penn Ave
Pittsburgh PA 15222
phone 800 348 2369
fax 800 315 2739
www.apexgiftfoods.com
They are item 883-634 and cost 30.95/case
with s/h running about $4.
P.S. Mine came yesterday: they were in much the same
condition as the ones I've gotten on US lately - i.e.,
a good percentage of them broken or half melted. But
they're still yummy.

Creme Savers have started showing up on some of my flights as well.
