Middle East - Expat Info for Amman

I have a friend who is considering an expat assignment in Amman. He'd like to make contact with people knowledgeable on what expat life is like there. He is familiar with Amman and the Middle East but hasn't done an expat assignment there. Anyone here with experience and who would be willing to discuss it please let me know.

Also, does anyone know of an expat community board similar to FT?

If you google around you should find some good expat websites. Anyhow I travel to the ME often and I was in Amman recently. I thoroughly enjoyed it. With the war in Iraq next door, the city is quite alive. Yet it is very secure too in an un-heavy-handed way. All the top regional executives of the defense companies and their subcontractors live in Amman. Feel free to email me if you have specific questions.
