Hi,
I'm a GP and have recently been trying to secure upgrades at the 72 hour window over the website for trips within 48-72 to LAX and FLL...I am consistently waitlisted. Not only that but whenever I try and make a dummy booking on usairways.com the flight appear so full that I can only chose an economy seat in the back of the plane...never exit.
Are the flights running that full?
Am I doing something wrong in the website?...I am signed in as GP.
Is there any way to see F availibility for flights I am trying to upgrade?
Lastly, when trying to upgrade with a nonstatus companion does that put me farther down on the upgrade list?
After running a search I couldn't find any defintive answers to these...thanks in advance from a new US Flyer!

Are the flights running that full? 8 of the last 10 have been oversold. IMO a good thing
Am I doing something wrong in the website?...I am signed in as GP. Yes, quit trying to upgrade on line, it doesn't work well. Call the GP line and ask to be upgraded there. Took me fours months to come to my senses
Is there any way to see F availibility for flights I am trying to upgrade? Yes there a couple, the one I use is a downloadable program on this thread.

Lastly, when trying to upgrade with a nonstatus companion does that put me farther down on the upgrade list? I don't think so, but I'll let some one with experence answer that one

Are the flights so full of SP, GP and CP that exit rows and good Y seats arent available eaither unless your booking over a month out?

Not sure about a month out, but they have been at 7-10 days out. I recently spent two trips in a middle seat in the back, and that hasn't happened in three or four years. Almost had a third trip as well, but I had an angel in the club who worked magic for me and I got an exit row aisle seat
BTW, welcome to the dark side!

The website seat map won't show you exit seats that might be available for assignment. In fact, it won't even show the "preferred" seats toward the front of the cabin; it'll just show what's available (or not) for general flyers. The fact that you login as a GP does not matter. This has been quite an annoyance and major complaint of mine since day one.
However, if you click on "Bypass Seat Maps", the computer will automatically assign you a seat, based on your preferences, from the preferred "section". You can then call and see if the exit row is available.
