Very good resource you found. Are there any other airports that just added the X?

Since I was a small child the official name of the airport was, "Los Angeles International Airport." But everybody, then as now, called the place "LAX." In one of the few recorded instances of bureaucratic intelligence, the powers that be in L.A. have now finally decided to change the signage on the freeways from "L.A. Airport" to "LAX Airport." At long last, the moniker "L.A. Airport" is extinct. The TV show "LAX" is about to become extinct, but that's another story.

I hope your tongue is planted in your cheek when reporting this. Isn't saying "LAX Airport" actually redundant? The Airport is Los Angeles International Airport. Its abbreviation is LAX. Would you say Federal FedEx Express? Once again the powers that be bow to the stupidity of the masses. Like Bridget Jones's Diary.

An excellent example.
