John Kerry's new charter, a 757-236, goes into service today:

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/576140/L/

According to an employee of Air Charter Team, the company that arranges and operates Mr. Kerry's flights, the new plane will have 94 seats in 4 sections: one for Mr. Kerry, with two 360-degree swiveling sleeper-seats and a pullout couch; one for his staff, with 16 seats, 8 of them around 2 worktables; one for traveling reporters and producers, with 24 first-class-sized seats; and one for still photographers and Secret Service agents, with 10 rows of 3-by-3 coach seats

It's spending like this which further instills in me the need to make sure that federal financing of elections ends in my lifetime. I'm very glad the tab for this is paid by his supporters or his wife.

He's the President of the US and like it or not, he flies Air Force One even on his vacations. Just like every other President. I don't think those who run for President should have tax payer funding for anything they do. I also don't think a President should get the same $75 million which goes to nominated candidates after the convention.

These people piss away so much money on TV time that the cost of the jet pales in comparison. I am proud, however, to say that I, too, check "NO!" on my tax return to the federal funding of this nonsense.

And Bush Jr. rides buses made in Canada, T-shirts made in Burma, Army caps made in China, and abusive to prisoners made in Iraq and Afghanastan. Only this President flies "Hitler One". The rest flew Air Force One and may I add that Kerry's plane is one of those rare MRTC Boeing 757s, made in America.

I'm Cygnus X-1 and I approve that post!

You have a tendency to bring together Adolf Hitler when you mention your disdain for the President. This is truly bad form as Hitler mass murdered over 6 million Jews in the ovens of concentration camps. I lost relatives to these camps as I'm sure other FTers have here. Kindly focus your arguments against the President ON the President and not bring in the likes of Hitler. By doing so, you divert attention away from your argument and instead reduce the 6 million Jews blood on Hitler's hands to mere politics.

WRONG!
1. No one is saying that little Georgie junior IS Hitler. We are comparing him TO hitler. And as American president's go, he's the best match we've ever had. More like hitler even than Nixon.
2. If anyone is affraid to rationally discuss Bush's similarity to Hitler, they shoud consider their own similarity to those who allowed Hitler to gain power.
3. Goodwin's 'law' does not denote 'winers' or 'losers'. It merely states that the longer a discussion goes on, the more likely that Hitler or the Nazis will be mentioned. His hypothesis was that it is inevitable, however that has not yet been proven. SOME sites observe a tradition of ending threads based on the mere mention of Nazis. This board is not one of them.

P.S. IMHO, People who hide from the issue of Fascism lurking in the white house, dishonor the memory of the soldiers who fought to liberate those camps. Did all of those people die in vain?

...and Gays and Catholics and Roma and...

Bush is not Hitler, period; though his Grandfather did bankroll the Germans in the 1930's.

The 747's used for Air Froce One were built in Everett, Washington, a state which many consider to be one of the United States.

Besides, Hitler preferred Junkers:

And Joseph P. Kennedy was a Nazi sympathizer which was why FDR replaced him....but you can't take the faults of the generations above and lay them on the current generation. Yes you are right, Hitler sent Gays, Catholics, Gypsies, and those who attempted to rescue them into the ovens as well......as time goes by, people downplay the horror.

No one is simply "laying fault" on the current Administration. We are comparing the faults of Bush to the faults of Hitler. And, IMHO, it is those who deny Bush's atrocities who are "downplaying the horror".
