Hi all
I stumbled across this airfare auction site which has some good deals going. They are not much use to me in Australia but might be of use in terms of racking up some cheap miles.

(This link leads to the hot deals)

I was reading in one of the travel magazines and 'Caveat Emptor' on the SkyAuction thing. Many deals are low, but you have to watch out for their 'service charges' and 'fees'.
Thought you'd like to know.

As I've posted before, you have to watch the "add-ons" (taxes and $10 shipping) - you can get a good deal or a bad one. Case in point: winter (November-March excluding around Christmas) west coast to London on United: a couple of weeks ago somebody got it for $337+108=$445; good but (depending on fare wars) not great. This week somebody bid $451+108=$559; that seems way too high for low season, even with airfares rising.
On the other hand, my $490 (total) roundtrip SFO-CDG in September, nonstops on the dates I asked for, was definitely a winner. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Interesting site. Wonder where their inventory comes from? Could not see any airline only deals. A Fairfield room for 1 night in Tennesseee for your bid PLUS $99 service fees is a bit of a joke.
