Has Starwood added a new elite level of "VIP Preferred Guest"? A few days ago my status changed from Platinum to this, so I'm curious what, if anything, this means.

My guess is that it is a glitch in the redesigned website.

I have the same thing on mine. I hope it holds, but I doubt it. I have had people pushing for it on my behalf though. What really makes me made is the fact that you cannot earn it, yet they are advertising it in the hotels now.
Any word on any of this true or replacement Lurker???

Same here...unfortunately the replace card screen still shows me as a PLAT.

. . . glitch (unfortunately). I just spoke with the Platinum desk and they said it was a glitch on the new website. Too bad for us.

same here. I am currently at the Westin Dallas (City Center), with the paint chipping off the bathroom ceiling, so unless it means "Very Important Paintjob" I am unsure as to what it is. ;)
I am a newly minted platinum, so I don't think that it has much to do with length of platinum status or the 100 night stay people . . .
