US Airways Dividend Miles (Pre-FlightFund Merger) - Visa Signature Card auto upgrade

I just check my card balance over the phone and it said your balance on your Visa Signature Card is_______________. That puzzled me because I have a Platinum card and I never applied for a signature card. I called BoA and they told me that it was an automatic upgrade. Naturally, being the Roach that I am, I inquired about the 15K bonuss miles. The guy I talked to said they should post in thirty days. :D

Wow, something for nothing. Now if US hangs around long enough for me to use the miles. :rolleyes:

I've yet to actually get the card they said they were sending me. Am I alone in this?

That's what they told me. Whether its true or not is anyone's guess. Soon as I get it I'll buy something and see what happens.

Mrs. SAnger3494 just approved for the new card. How long does it take to post. The usual 6 to 8 weeks, do not see any thing in the small print.

I just called because I could not remember if I was receiving 1,000 or 2,000 bonus miles for "accepting" the automatic upgrade. The customer service rep just informed me I would get 15,000 miles after my first purchase with the new card. 1,000 vs. 15,000, no argument from me!

check-in, and preferred boarding...

does anyone know how the space available upgrades work-

That would be a SCORE.... unexpected 15K.... (sounds too good to be true).. I'm in interesting situation since my Platinum Visa Card was compromised.... (4K of fitness equipment... moi??? yeah right) and cancelled while waiting for Signature card... so definitely have new number coming (hasn't gotten here yet).

Have y'all who have received the upgraded one gotten a new number?

On the side, major kudos to B of A for catching the huge spending and calling me so darn fast - didn't even hit the account.

6 p.m. actually got the upgraded card w/ the old frauded-out number :-) called - new one should hopefully be on its way.... what do y'all think of the mini card?? I lose my keys too often to make it safe for me.

I received my new signature card with the same account number as the old platinum one. I'll post about the bonus miles when and if they appear.

Actually, the upgrades aren't free, just unlimited. The wording states something like "unlimited space available upgrades." If I remember correctly, I think they can be purchased for $50 for every 500 miles. The perk is that normally, members without status can only upgrade full fare tickets, now you can upgrade just about any ticket.

However, now that US is offering their "GoFirst" program, where anyone can upgrade at the gate for a price, the upgrade perk the card offers is really not worth much.

Your right- I guess I got excited a bit. Stopped flying USAirways (except for award tickets) and have been NW Worldperks Elite member so when I saw unlimited space available upgrades i thought that that was kind of like what NW did with their elites... not so :(

Ok... got the new one w/ new number as I expected - this time they *didn't* send mini cards as they did when they sent the one for the frauded-out number - which is fine - I leave my keys around all the time - so wouldn't use a minicard.

I've done mine too ($3 parking garage fee). I was told by the BOA reps the bonus miles would post 5-8 days after statement end date.

I just compared it to the old one:

1) Thickness seems the same -- I can't see a difference and when placed flat next to each other there does not appear to be a difference at the seam.

2) No apparent difference in flexibility -- I shuffled the cards with my eyes closed and attempted to choose the more flexible card. I couldn't pick.

Just got mine today, didnt even know it was coming...Anyway, I did think it seemed a bit thinner. Have we got a definative on how many bonus miles are awarded on first purchase? It looks cooler than the Plat card :cool:

I did think it felt a little different than the usual credit card material. Maybe the top "reflective" part gives the appearance of something a bit cheesy?

My wife is also a BOA Signature card holder on my account. If she flies alone, does she get the same perks that I get (i.e. preboards, etc) by just whipping out her card?

Mine came yesterday as well and almost got pitched. I don't understand why I got it, but the strip is clean and unmarked so it is in better shape than my old one.

I am having trouble getting any first use bonus miles, let alone the 15K promised to me by BOA reps. I would greatly appreciate some assistance from anyone that recieved the first use 7,000 bonus miles on the upgraded Visa Signature card (e.g. Dukeman or Global Explorer).

I am working with a BOA representative in the corporate offices and she is indicating the 7K bonus is from some other promotion. What I am looking for, if possible, is someone who recieved the 7K miles to send me a private email and provide the following: your name, city, and state. The representative would look up the account based on this information to find the linked promotion code to identify why your account received the 7K and mine did not.

I would appreciate any assistance with this.

I must apologize and amend my previous post about receiving 7000 bonus miles for Signature Card first use. Mrs. Dukeman got a 2nd card and that was what posted. 7K for first use and then later a 2nd posting to my DM account for 8K (15K total for a new card). We have yet to receive anything for the upgraded card. Sorry for the mistake, but both cards arrived the same week.....
