I am looking to find a mid-week Acela amtrak discounts from Providence to New York Penn. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Amtrak doesn't really offer discounts on Acela, especially on weekdays which represent their prime market.
Your best bet for the cheapest price is to try and travel during what Amtrak calls the shoulder period. Peak fare from Providence to NY is $95, while shoulder is $88 one way.
Shoulder is defined as a travel departing Providence between 9:00 AM & 1:59 PM or 6:00 PM thru end of service.

Unfortunately Amtrak has eliminated the AAA discount all weekday Acela Express trains. :( One can only get the AAA discount now on weekends.
