I wonder if anyone could comment on the noise cancelling headphones of planequiet.

I ended up using a pair of Etymotic ER-6's covered by Planequiet's.

They don't have quite the NC capabilities as the Bose, but they are close. With my combo, the net reduction is superior.

The PQ and Bose are about equivalent in sound quality (neither acceptable to me, but then I've spent quite a few $$$ on audio equipment).

So, for less than the cost of the Bose, I get better NC and better sound.

If you're not extremely picky regarding audio, the PQ's alone are a great solution at a very affordable price.
