My client has a firewall and I can surf the web through there LAN connection with no problem. I can connect to Yahoo Messenger with no problems. However, I can't get my Outlook Express mail to Send and Receive. Is there a setting I can change on my computer that would allow me to do so?

Not really, your outlook express connects via SMTP and POP3, and if they have those disabled you won't be able to connect to your email.

Most firewall do not allow those ports open because of potential virus attacks

Yahoo and other Im clients use other ports.

Sorry :(

If your company is using Microsoft Exchange, they might have Outlook Web Access set up, which allows you access your email over secure HTTP. Try something like:

https://outlook.your-company-name.com

Sometimes companies set it up, but don't advertise it, since they expect people to use only the fat ugly Outlook client.

It's a lotus notes shop :(

Lotus Notes also has a web client, which used to be far superior to Outlook Web Access (the latest version of OWA is really good :))

So check, maybe they will have it installed.

BTW, Domino/Notes is a far superior program than Outlook/Exchange

IMHO ;)

While my work email is Lotus Notes, and I have no problem connecting to get my Lotus Notes email over there network I can't however get my personal email via Outlook Express. My ISP has a web access version but I just find it aggravating to use.
