Would be interested in recent experiences. Have booked a rental (not a special time share offer). Was told by agent I made initial inquiry from that stay would be eligible for HHonors credit, but second agent told me it would not. Also, is the member lounge where complimentary continental breakfast served the executive lounge of the New York Hilton Hotel? Any recent expereience/impressions appreciated. Thanks.

We stayed there a few months ago and the room was very nice, one of the nicest in NYC. We particularly liked the flat-screen tvs and the multi-headed showers. Strangely enough, we were upgraded from a normal hotel room as gold, even though HH members are not supposed to be upgraded to club. We did receive HH points.
The member lounge is actually different than the executive lounge, but both are very nice. You will not go hungry.
We ended up seeing the timeshare and were given 30k HH points to do so. The woman who showed us around was a real jerk, but we wouldn't have bought anyway. We had to call several times to get the points posted.
Hope that helps.

Just stayed there 4/2-4/6. Gold VIP upgrade to NY Hilton room that was on most recently renovated floor, 20 I think. Complained it was a pain to go down to lobby in one elevator and take another up to 44 for lounge. Moved us to 38 Club level room for rest of stay. Like "mikeef" said, Club room was nice. Room was not much bigger than a King, but had all the goodies. Had Gold Access to executive lounge on 44, nice spread. She liked the 3 headed shower and I liked the Bose system. Knowing its rate, not worth the extra price as you won't spend much time in the room in NYC anyway. But for us the rooms were great because the location of the hotel is perfect and the amenities were above expectations. I'll return whether we get upgaraded to Club level room or not.

I was pleased to see this hotel a part of the topics. I was there in October and had a "Club Level" room, not requesting it at the time I made reservations. I had requested the "Executive Level" with no idea I'd be on the 38th floor in such a nice room! I was very impressed with the plasma t.v. and Bose sound system, and the spaciousness of the bathroom. The tiled walk-in shower was nice.
I didn't realize there was a separate lounge for the club level, I just headed up to the 44th floor lounge and found it to be fine for the two day stay. The one thing that puzzled me on check out, I asked about securing luggage for the afternoon while I did more siteseeing and shopping before heading out to Jamacia for several days of board meetings. The staff on the 44th floor level check in desk said they wouldn't be able to handle my request for extended check-out, I'd need to go down to the 37th floor desk for that. I realized afterwards it as time-shared and controlled by a different staff.
Was very pleased with the room, staff, lounge staff, view and my stay in general. The only hassle was the two and a half hour trip from mid-town to JFK! But it was rush hour and NYC! When in NYC do as the locals do and just accept it!

Well now a days, if you're not toting to much in the way of luggage, you can grab the new JFK Airtrain in conjunction with either the subway or the Long Island RR to reach the airport. Using the LIRR and the Airtrain combo, the average trip time will be around 35 minutes and will only cost you $11.75. It's cheaper if you happen to be traveling off peak.
Using the Subway combo, will take longer (around an hour or so), but will cost even less at 7 bucks one way.
Of course if you've got a family with you and a ton of luggage this might not be as attractive or viable an alternative as a cab.
By the way there is also an Airtrain connection to Newark International. Nothing to LGA though, except bus or cab.

Thanks for the info. The rooms do sound really nice. As I understand it the "Hilton Club" is located on a particular floor within the NY Hilton. Has anyone who has booked through the "club" and not through the general Hilton reservations had their stay count in the HHonors program? As I mentioned I was given conflicting answers to this by the "Hilton Club" representatives. We have reservations in the hotel itself on the executive floor which will count for the stay credit and points, however the nicer room through the Hilton Club is actually $70.00 less per night. The hotel is sold out on the dates we have reserved.

It's jetguy727 once again. I had full HiltonHHonors points and night stays credited to my account. When I went up to the 44th floor to check in I was approached by a nice young gentleman to come listen to a "time-share" presentation about the Hilton Club promo -- he was "suppose" to credit my account 500 points for just standing there listening to him but I never saw them. That's fine - the room was great, spacious for NYC hotels. I'd stay again when in Manhattan!

The rate of $99/night, which is what it sounds like you're quoting for the Club stay, is a time share presentation promo rate, no different that than HGVC rentals. You won't get points or stay /nights credit. But if you figure you'll get 10k or 20k bonus points for attending the presentation and saving $70/night, it's a better deal than paying and getting stay credit.

The rate we are paying is $199/night for a studio. This is not a promotional visit, it is strictly a rental of an unused unit with no timeshare tour involved. Interestingly, when I first inquired about this in 12/03 I was given this rate, and also a rate of $269 for a 1 bedroom, and $299 for a 2 bedroom. I was told that they only book "rentals" 30 days out so I'd have to wait until that time frame to see if they had "inventory" available. When I called back 30 days out, the new rate was $329 for a studio. Fortunately, I had saved the original email with the lower rates quoted and they did honor that rate. The Hilton club has it's own web site. www.thehiltonclub.com
Received an offer from New York Hilton to "Enjoy New York" "Two nights for the price of one" & 20,000 Hilton HHonor Bonus points from $249
Must sit thru 2 hour timeshare presentation.
Inexpensive weekend for New York.
