American Express Membership Rewards - AE Delta card 10,000 miles, how many times?

If I recieved 10,000 miles about 5 years ago and canceled my AE Delta card, would I be able to sign up now and receive another 10,000 miles. I've been told they monitor it and only give it once in a lifetime.

I didn't get it the second time (with at least 5+ years in between), and when I complained (three) times, they finally explained that it is a one time bonus - although I have yet to see where it says that anywhere in the small print!

It does say in the terms and conditions that it is for first time cardmembers only. However, they called me and offered 10000 miles to sign up even though I had a card years ago. I verified several times with the person on the phone that I would still get the sign up bonus even though I received it before. She assured me I would.

Of course I never did receive the miles and when I called they said it is only for first time members. They are currently reviewing my case and will let me know in 4-5 weeks. Don't think I'll ever see them.
