Sorry if this has been addressed.
I 'm tech challenged with the new FT.
I'd greatly appreciate if someone could post links, info on the double points promo.
I know that the third party vendor requires a "processing fee" , But I figure with DOUBLE starwood points it may be worth it.
Could someone be gracious enough to post links and outline the whole process, like is it targeted, do you need to preregister? Thanks a lot.

Is this just for federal taxes, or does it include state taxes as well?

officialpayments.com is 2.49%. Not sure of others. Think they are all the same.

Well, I just paid $5,000 of my Fed Taxes with *Wood Amex. I hope the doubel points are automatic and I wasn't supposed to register or do anything first? I used the link to "official payments" above. Now I am worried, becuase the AMEX link above is to PAY1040.com. Was I required to use that site for the bonus?

Phew: I answered my own question:
How to Make Payments with American Express Cards
Cardmembers can use the American Express Card to pay any balance due on their federal taxes (Form 1040); request an extension of time to file a federal income tax return (Form 4868); or pay estimated federal taxes (Form 1040-ES). To make a payment, contact the Internal Revenue Service’s payment processors:
Official Payments Corporation®5 at 1-800-2PAY-TAXsm, or online at www.officialpayments.com
PAY1040.com® at 1-888-PAY-1040sm, or online at www.PAY1040.com (Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Cardmembers can visit www.PAY1040.com/AmexStarwood to make a payment)
Depending on the state, Cardmembers can use the Card to pay for a variety of state personal and business taxes, estimated taxes or file for extensions either by phone or via the Internet. Tax rules vary by state and Cardmembers should check with Official Payments Corporation to determine which taxes can be paid with a Card.
Taxpayers who pay with their Card will be charged a convenience fee that is set and collected by the payment processors. The convenience fee is based on the amount of the tax bill.
American Express Company is a diversified worldwide travel, financial and network services company founded in 1850. It is a world leader in charge and credit cards, Travelers Cheques, travel, financial planning, business services, insurance and international banking.
